Jo Ellen has achieved coverage, coding and payment for a spectrum of innovative biomedical, pharmaceutical and medical device technologies used in the U.S. and abroad. Her perspective comes from extensive experience in developing and driving reimbursement for small startup companies, as well as established global conglomerates.

PROFESSIONAL HISTORY
A veteran of both consulting and corporate environments, Jo Ellen has served in senior reimbursement management roles at multiple companies. Most recently, she was VP of Health Policy and Strategic Planning at Guided Delivery Systems, an interventional cardiology venture. Previously, as VP of Reimbursement at Almyra - an Israel-based incubator for early-stage companies - she improved market access to several new medical device products by securing coverage and payment in Europe, and achieving ICD-9 and HCPCS coding in the US.

Jo Ellen is also skilled as an independent strategic advisor who adds value to board-level meetings and due diligence efforts. For four years, she led the consulting practice at another prominent reimbursement firm, where she drove engagements with pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device clients, as well as venture capital firms and investment banks.

CREDENTIALS
A former board member of the Medical Device Manufacturers Association (MDMA), Jo Ellen now chairs its Reimbursement Working Group. Recently, MX Magazine profiled her as a US reimbursement leader, and named her to its advisory board.

Jo Ellen is active as a speaker on health policy trends and reimbursement-related business issues, and has written numerous reimbursement-related publications and articles - including two Harvard Business School Notes with Professor Regina Herzlinger. She holds a Bachelors Degree from the University of Virginia.
